How do I log a catch?

Navigate to a body of water, tap into a spot, then tap "Log Catch". Fill in the species (required), measurements, gear, and optionally fetch current weather with one tap. The form pre-fills your last-used rod, lure, technique, and depth at that spot to save time.

Does the app work without cell service?

Yes. StrikeLog is offline-first. You can log catches, view your waters, spots, and history, and use the map with no internet connection. Everything syncs to the cloud automatically when you reconnect.

How do I add GPS coordinates to a spot?

When adding or editing a spot, tap "Use My Current Location" to pin your exact GPS coordinates, or tap the map to place a pin manually. Spots with coordinates appear on the Map tab.

How does the weather auto-fill work?

When logging a catch, tap "Fetch Current Weather". The app uses your current GPS location to pull temperature, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, cloud cover, and moon phase from Open-Meteo — a free, no-account-required weather service.

My species isn't in the list. Can I add it?

Yes. In the species picker, scroll to the bottom and use "Enter Custom Species" to type in any species not covered by the built-in list of 75+ freshwater species.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Go to the Waters tab → tap your profile/settings icon → Delete Account. This permanently and immediately deletes all your catches, spots, waters, gear, and photos. It cannot be undone.

I bought the app on one device. Do I need to buy it again on another?

No. StrikeLog is a one-time App Store purchase. Sign in with the same Apple ID on any iPhone and restore your purchase for free. Your fishing data also syncs across devices via your StrikeLog account.

How do I change my password?

Go to the Waters tab → tap your profile/settings icon → Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password to update it.
