Overview

Food Plot Manager ("the App", "we", "us") is a native iOS application developed by OpenTerrain.app for managing food plots, tracking soil samples, plantings, inputs, and calculating seeding rates. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

We do not sell your data. We do not use advertising networks. We collect only what is needed to operate the App.

What We Collect

When you use the App, we may collect:

Food plot data you enter — plot names, notes, soil sample results (pH, nutrients, soil temperature), planting records (seed type, rate, method), and input records (lime, fertilizer, herbicide applications and costs)
GPS coordinates — latitude and longitude captured when you use the "Walk the Edge" or "Draw on Map" features to define plot boundaries. GPS is only accessed when you explicitly use a boundary feature while the App is in the foreground. We do not track your location in the background.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect crash analytics, usage telemetry, or behavioral tracking data
We do not access your photo library, contacts, or other personal data
We do not track your location in the background at any time
We do not collect payment information — all purchases are handled through the Apple App Store
We do not require an account to use the App's core features

How Your Data Is Stored

In the current version, all data is stored locally on your device in the App's private documents directory as JSON files. This means:

Your data never leaves your device
No data is transmitted to any server or cloud service
Your data is not accessible to other apps
Deleting the App removes all data from your device

A future version may offer optional cloud sync via Supabase for cross-device access. If and when cloud sync is introduced, this policy will be updated to reflect the additional data handling, and you will be able to choose whether to opt in.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media integrations.

Data Deletion

You can permanently delete all data stored by the App at any time:

Settings → Delete All Data

This immediately and permanently deletes all your plots, soil samples, plantings, and input records from your device. This action cannot be undone.

You can also delete the App itself, which removes all locally stored data automatically.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
